Patrick is a passionate advocate for construction industry transformation and believes that prefabricated mass timber construction is the key to the significant gains in construction efficiency and building performance that we need to meet our significant housing and infrastructure needs in a sustainable way that contributes to a low-carbon future.
Scalable, Sustainable & Modular Approaches for Multi-family Development
The construction industry today faces multiple challenges – increased complexity, thinning margins, labor shortages, supply chain disruption and poor productivity. Add to this the fact that we are in the midst of a global environmental crisis that is exacerbated by the carbon-intensive way we build, and it is clear that the industry is in need of a transformation.
Prefabricated mass timber construction where buildings can be manufactured and assembled on site, reduces a construction project’s environmental impact, and helps reduce risk, improve quality and shorten construction timelines – leading to a better overall return on investment. This sustainable module approach is also well suited for the Affordable Housing, Multi-Family and Mixed-Use development projects, as it lends itself to high volume and repeatability.
