Oregon Mass Timber Coalition

Marcus Kauffman leads the Oregon Department of Forestry’s work on mass timber, biomass utilization and economic development. He provides leadership, coordination, and communication across multiple state and regional initiatives. He helps lead the Oregon Mass Timber Coalition, serves as the OMTC Communication Officer and as the Regional Innovation Officer for the Pacific Northwest Mass Timber Tech Hub.

A strong proponent of collaborative economic development, he aims to create, enhance, and sustain market-based approaches that promote forest stewardship, community resilience, and shared prosperity.

Previously at ODF, Marcus was a Type 1 Public Information Officer supporting ODF’s Incident Management Team with communication, media, and community engagement on complex incidents.

Marcus earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s of Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon.
