Leader, New England Forestry Foundation, Bioeconomy Initiative

Jennifer leads the New England Forestry Foundation’s Bioeconomy Initiative, which aims to grow a forest-based bioeconomy that benefits our communities, our forests, and our climate. This includes deep engagement with partners in the AEC industry, particularly around the development of sustainably-sourced mass timber and other innovative wood products. Jennifer’s areas of expertise include the science of climate change impacts on forest ecosystems, climate-smart approaches to forest management, and the use of wood for lower-carbon building construction. Before joining NEFF in 2019, she was an Applied Forest Scientist at Manomet working with large forest landowners on climate adaptation, and a Project Manager at INRS, LLC. Jennifer has master’s degrees in forestry and environmental management from Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment, and she is also an SAF Certified Forester.
