Ilana has over 15 years of structural engineering experience, with a particular passion for mass timber design and seismic engineering. She has worked on a broad range of building types, including residential, institutional, cultural and recreational facilities in Canada and the US. Ilana also has a wealth of experience in off-site prefabricated mass timber and light wood frame systems, as well as construction engineering for mass timber buildings. She is a much sought-after speaker, and has multiple publications to her credit. In her current role as Associate Principal and Vancouver team lead, Ilana contributes to the continual improvement of the firm’s technical and quality standards, and enthusiastically provides mentorship to up-and-coming engineers. A fierce advocate for women in engineering, Ilana has also been a guiding force in Aspect’s DEI initiatives and policies.
